Skoda yeti puddle lights flashing

Featured Replies

Hi there

I have a year 2010 Skoda Yeti with a reoccurring problem. The puddle lights are flashing on both wing mirrors when car is locked at night and draining battery. Have tried leaving it unlocked but eventually interior lights faze on and off all night which also drains battery. Have had to keep recharging or disconnecting battery which is driving me nuts. Took car to local dealers for a diagnostic, they said there was a loose wire connecting to battery terminal which would have caused this problem, took £60 off me n sent me home. Flashing started again that night. I don't know what else to try 😩

That should not happen, could be the same problem that is affecting the puddle lights.

It may be worth checking for broken wires between the "A" post and door both sides by gently pulling back the rubber boot.

Will try anything, wondered if it was worth taking to an auto electric garage, see if they pinpoint problem or will I b shelling out more money for nothing.

Try Urrell's suggestion first.  Broken wires between door and 'A' post are a known problem on earlier Yetis and may be the cause of your problem.

1st thing I would do is, go back to the garage and ask for your £60 back.

But agree with Urrell, door post wiring first place to start. Also check the connections on the hazard light switch.

So don't take it to a dealer!!
There must be some independent VAG specialists or auto-electricians in your area.
