2.0 cr engine injector seals

Featured Replies

Hi guy's. Has anyone had to replace there injectors seals on cr engines. Mines a cega. Been clutching at straws regarding oil dilution. I'm not convinced it's all dpf related. Could the Injector seals be passing and sending diesel UP into the head diluting the oil? If it was purely diesel leaking down the bores into the sump surely my engine would be toast and crank case pressure through the roof. I'm about to drive this car into a quarry as its driving me insane!!! Any help will be greatly appreciated. I've submitted a couple other dpf/oil dilution topic but not much interest unfortunately. All the best.

I've had a set done on a 2.0 SDI in a 2k caddy and it seemed to help the situation. I wouldn't expect a 2.0 to ever need rings.

Thanks for the reply mate. I think I'm going to pull them this weekend, to check if there any cracks on the injector bodies. I will replace the copper seals and rubber o rings as I have them but I can't see those being the culprit. Is it even possible for diesel to pass up the Injectors into the top end?

Not necessarily, its a half decent lubricant, sometimes I use it as flushing oil instead of 50/50 parafin and cheap thin motor oil.

With the PCV system working correctly you will not see any increase in crankcase pressure, that happens when the combustion gases get past the rings in significant quantities, not much smaller volumes of unburnt fuel.

On the positive side your old engine oil is already thinned for use as a fence preservative or bonfire starter!

Tbf you wouldn't think there were any kind cylinder compression issues due to the way it starts and runs. I know these engines are pretty high compression in that they dont realy need glow plugs. Kinda hoping my frequent oil changes are dampening the bore wash. She's @ 156k aswel. Seems to be regenerating alot, no dpf warning light, wish there was an app compatible with these cega engines, my ancel diagnostic tool isnt great.
