4x4 estate rear suspension sagged

Featured Replies

Looking for some heavy duty springs for the 4x4 it's a 55 reg for when I get my gear in the boot or a trailer on with logs. The suspension looks to of sagged and sits 10-20mm lower than the fronts when empty. I only want the springs not helpers or other springs to go inside the std ones. Any ideas or links welcome. Will the Munro 3349 work and if they will what height will I gain over standard.

First, find out the OEM part number of your standard rear springs.

Maybe take a photo of your white build code label that's under the carpet by the spare wheel well. However, these are just some of the build codes that your car left the factory with, so may not include the build codes for the springs.

What coloured dots are on the rear springs? What wire diameter are the rear springs? For example, this might be 12.5mm. Both sides should be the same. By reference to a chart, this will tell you the spring's OEM part number.

Does your 2005 Octavia MK2 4x4 have standard or increased ride height?

You might also want to check the coloured dots on the front springs.

What engine does it have, and does it have a manual or automatic gearbox?

Or maybe go on erWIN and get a printout of all your car's build codes. This is actually the easiest method to finding out what was fitted to your car when it left the factory. erWIN costs about 7 Euros for one hour's access, which is usually enough to printout the car's build codes.

As you can see from the chart above, if your rear springs have 1 red dot and 2 green dots, you have 1K0511115CR. If this is the case, then a change to 1K0511115CS or 1K0511115CT will solve the sagging rear end problem.
