Brake Disc size?

Featured Replies

Hello all

I have a 2017 F/L Octavia VRs tdi and I need to replace the brake discs and pads in the near to mid term. Whenever I put my reg into most car parts suppliers I get a choice of 2 different sizes, how to I find out which size I need please?

Being the FL you will have 312mm at the front and 272mm at the rear.

as Ecomatt says 312mm up front and 272mm in the rear. The pre MY16 VRS TDi and all petrol VRS have 340mm fronts.

Unless you're trackdaying your car, just get OEM equivalent pads and brakes.

Have a look at the tyre sizes inside the fuel filler flap.

If you have the option of 16" tyres, you won't have the bigger 340mm front brake discs as 16" rims won't clear the brake calipers on 340mm front brake discs.

However, like others have said, the Octavia MK3 diesel RS facelift model uses the smaller 312mm front discs.

The 312mm front discs are a TRW brake system.

The 272mm rear discs are also a TRW brake system.
