Annoying squeaking behind dashboard.

Featured Replies

Owned my 2016 Superb L&K 190 for 3 weeks now, loving it... Except for a really annoying persistent squeak on the driver's side seemingly behind the dash somewhere. It's worse at lower revs and when the engines under load and dissappears if I back off the accelerator.  It seems to be mid height rather than at the top of the dash or lower down at pedal level.

Any ideas on what it could be or how to track it down? Putting my ear down in the footwell whilst driving would probably be ideal but I think I'll skip that option! Tx.

Mine has developed this type of rattle too in the past 12m. It seems to be in the vicinity to the right of the centre speaker. It’s worse in the summer than in the winter. It’s annoying but I really cant be a**sed to start heaving out the instrument panel and having a rummage around. Been there, done that, never again. I think there’s a number of threads on it here.

Here is one…

As quick as you can fix one more seem to appear 😔. When you hear the rattle, use your finger to place a reasonable amount of pressure on the area and see what makes it stop. Normally the top grill on the dash, the centre vents in the dash, the info screen and the instrument cluster seem to be the main dash culprits. I’ve also fixed glovebox rattles and some more in both front door panels around the tweeter units in the top corners beside the door mirrors.
