Scala 1.0 SE, Software Bug on Infotainment Screen Brightness

Featured Replies

If on the Bolero infotainment Screen I select Menu, Settings, Screen, Brightness, there is a choice of very bright through to very dark, in five steps. If I select Very Dark, the infotainment screen goes very bright. So bright that at night it becomes difficult to drive. It seems to work fine on other brightness settings. Has anyone else seen this, which looks to me like a software bug?

Hi,

Not that I can recall. I know what you mean, at night or when driving through a tunnel the infotainment screen & digital display can become very sharp & bright.

But I cant say I have experianced what you have asked. I will check the next time I drive at night.

The screen becomes so bright that you can easily see the problem even in bright daylight.

Maybe your infotainment needs a software solution? have not heard of this issue on other scalas

I have checked, but there is no software update for the Scala Bolero infotainment system. I expect few people will go into the menu and make changes to the screen's brightness, and even fewer will set it to very dark. The fault is literally glaringly obvious as the screen will illuminate the entire cabin and would be dangerous at night.

I would guess it is faulty if it cant be turned down. The brightest setting is only for a very sunny day. So if it goes haywire when dark thats a problem. Would ask the dealer and make a short video on passenger seat at night to show it.

The other possibility is, is that you are very sensitive to light if a co-passenger sees no issue with brightness
