Things to look out for on a mk2 Octavia scout

Hello all, 

im looking to buy a mk2 Octavia, and the scout with all its top spec features and handy AWD is currently the one I’m most interested in. 
 

few questions. 
 

what are the main things to look out for on a scout and more broadly mk2 Octavia’s? 
 

seeing as I live near London and need to abide to the horror that is ULEZ, would the petrol variant even be worth buying or is the diesel far superior? 
 

Is the scout in general worth it over the standard? I’m looking for cruise control, that’s almost a must for me. 
 

I’m 23 years old, no children, but I really love estates so am looking to get one, so my question is to you all are there many disadvantages to owning one or should I just buy one because I want one?
