Smartlink+ question

Featured Replies

Hi, I've got a 67 plate vrs with the Amundsen head unit. I've connected it to Skoda Connect and activated the Smartlink+ license, however it isn't working. Everything else is just not Smartlink+

I've reconnected multiple times and the app always asks me to turn on some data sharing settings on the head unit that are already on.

I contacted Skoda support and they've been useless, sending me videos for the iPhone app that isn't the same as the Android one, then finally they come back and say Smartlink+ isn't supported on my car, despite all the evidence to the contrary.

Has anyone seen this? Does anyone have Smartlink+ working on a 67 plate with Amundsen?

Quick question, are you connecting it with a USB cable?

If you are, are you sure this cable it capable of transmitting data as well as charging (try playing some music from your phone, does it show up in the media section when plugged in via USB)?

Not all cables are the same, some cheaper ones are just for charging only, and not data transfer.

Hope this helps,

You might also be falling foul of the long standing EE network issue too - it simply doesn't work using the EE network and I've never had it working on iPhone or Android whilst on EE. If you're not on EE, then no idea (sorry).

Android auto works fine, I'm talking about the Smartlink+ features like health check, logbook, etc

I'm actually using Plusnet which is on the EE network and all of the online stuff seems to work flawlessly. Weather, news, parking, traffic, etc. Just not Smartlink+ which I think is USB only anyway

Fantastic so after digging around a lot of information, Smartlink+ appears to only work on iPhones.

That's not very clear, anywhere. Thanks Skoda

As I said, on mine (iPhone) I have to have the myskoda app open and connected via USB to get it to use and update the Smartlink+ applications.  On Android, maybe there is something you need to set in the individual app permissions to allow it to share the phone's connection?  Seems that it must be something specific to that app if the rest of the Smartlink+ stuff is working as you said above.

For what its worth, smartlink+ on mine is very limited, it basically shows me what fuel I have in the car and the mileage, and thats it, and even that is usually out of date.

Mine is supposedly active and apparently used to work at some point because I can see some data if I log in to Skoda Connect but the last 'update' is about 2 years old now. Don't know when or why it stopped working, it didn't tell me anything I couldn't see when I was in the car anyway by the looks of it.
