Camber adjustable ?

Featured Replies

Hi all

Is the front Camber adjustable ? For some reason I thought the strut to hub had two bolts through but just discovered it’s only got one when I’ve taken the wheel off.

Scrubbed the front insides off very badly, Tracking done a few months ago at Ats which was apparently out but it doesn’t seem to have sorted it. I’ve kept an eye on the wear.

Kwik Fit had ago the time before that (Twice) and the print out shows Front Camber out

It’s booked Thursday to a small independent garage with 4 wheel alignment who I would hope would give more attention to the results.

Cant seem to find any info on front but plenty on rear

cheers

How many mile have you done? I'd start by checking all joints / bushes first to see if anything worn. I had a similar problem with an Octavia mkI a few years ago at about 130k  miles - replacement bottom arms  fixed the issue.

Camber on individual front wheels is not adjustable, but you can centre it by loosening the subframe and shifting it left or right until both sides have equal camber.

Hi

thanks for the replies

I’ve (and brother) have checked all bushes this morning all seem ok ( milage in 80k’s)

But since it’s sitting with all wheels off and booked in on Thursday for tracking I decided to clean threads up etc on track rods.

i discovered the locking nuts on either side were seized solid.

We have spent ages getting them free and cleaned all threads up so everything moves easily

Now thinking the tracking has never been done right

So hopefully find out Thursday

Tracked today and everything looking good now. Hopefully stop scrubbing the tyres off now
