Annoying Niggles

Featured Replies

I've owned a 52 plate Superb for six months and in almost all respects it is an excellent car, however I have the car has developed a few annoying niggles and I was wonering if anyone else had them and new any quick remedies without having to take it to the local service dept which is likely to cost an arm and a leg!

Niggle 1) Drivers door electric window, tempremental, especially getting it to close, usually when it's either pouring with rain or when I've got to work and about to leave it in a public car park, as all of the other windows work perfectly I can't figure out if it's the switch or the motor mechanism which is not working properly, any suggestions?

Niggle 2) Drivers side passenger door lock - although the door locks the button doesn't go down!, annoying as I end up having to push the button down as other wise to the passing car thief the door looks like it's unlocked, I don't know if it has detached itself from the lock mechanish or if something has broken?

Niggle 3) Parking sensors - Dont work, every time I engage reverse I get two beeps of different tones and that's it, very annoying, is this a garage job or can I disconnect it?

Thoughs, recommendations and advice would be most appreciated.

Thanks.

Dont know about the first 2 faults but the parking sensors are sounding an alarm that means there is a fault with them, you should only otherwise get the single beep as you go into reverse then obviously more beeps as you get closer to an object or wall.

There is nothing to tell you this in the cars manual, but I have a separate set (still boxed) of O/E sensors that have a little instruction with them that says that.

who'd you buy it from?

parking sensors were a warranty job on mine.

1&2 don't know other than try and take it back.

you can put key in lock and turn and hold which will close all windows - may rule out switch being broke.

good luck
