Problem with rear centre seat belt

Featured Replies

The rear centre seat belt won't budge. It seems to be locked in the resting position ie, sat on the rear back rest (very tightly now).

Any ideas to release it?

is the seat fully engaged in the lock as I believe they will not move if it isn't

Ah! Good point. I'll go & check.

The rear seat wasn't locking in properly. However, now that I've locked it in position the belt still won't budge.

Do I need to do something else?

If the seat back is in position correctly give it a good tug, its should release and come out.

If it doesnt then its a dealer trip im afriad.

try compressing the seat foam in and pushing the belt in to the slot at the same time then slowly try to pull the seat belt out , this usually works on the fords i work on

I'll try this one tomorrow.

slaming the seat closed sometimes frees the lock off also

Is this a common problem on 3-point centre belts then? :D

especially mondeos for some reason , and occasionally focus estates

Neither of the above methods worked.

Can you get to the reel from the back of the seat?

OK, I think I've solved it.

Had to unbolt the bottom anchor point & feed the belt back into the reel.

Hopefully, this should cure the problem.
