vRS vs standard

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Just wanted your 2 pence about this....my friend called me out with a question, what is different than looks than a passat you wanted?

So i wanted a passat estate originally then finally the wife agreed for something nicer, other than optional extras and a hell of a lot newer than i was looking at for a passat.

What are we actually getting if we compared octavia 2.0 TDi vRS blackline to say....

Bog standard taxi spec

Audi A4

Vw Passat

Seat equivalent

All in 2.0 TDi offers

Am i right in saying?

Sports suspension

Chasis built around a mk5 golf gti i read?

Body kit

Is the boost any different 1.6 bar at 3000

Bigger wheels

170 bhp instead of a possible 140 or 170 model

The cool vRS badge?

I want to believe we get so much more but do we actually?

Kind regards

Stephen

The octavia is smaller than the passat but the octavia is big enough for most people

Bit of trivia for you, vRS is Victory Rally Sport, the "victory" was due to Ford trying to claim the rights to RS they lost the court case so Skoda could continue to use the RS badge, in response the UK got given the vRS, Basically I'm flipping the bird to Ford as I drive around the UK in my "V"RS....... V u Ford ✌️

Extra power is the obvious difference. A non-vRS 2.0l TDi Octavia would have either 140ps or 110ps, only the vRS gets 170ps :D

Few images from a late 2012 brochure for a more detailed answer are below.

The base model 'S' gets:

The vRS gets the following extras:

The Blackline vRS also gets:
