hello all      problem as above  led will also flash buy stays on for 6/10 seconds then flashes normal    all wires to both front locks in doors have continuity from locks to door plug      key will only lock drivers door  boot is also dead    soldered window wires as were broken   others were notched  so taped them     so now i am kinda stuck   any ideas  or thoughts  would  be welcomed

Is it just key in door central locking or radio remote too? 

 

Does the lights left on buzzer work if you open the driver's door with lights on and keys out of ignition?

 

Pre- or post-facelift car? This makes a difference to the type of window motor modules fitted and whether the key-turned signal from the lock does or doesn't go through it.

hello pete    its both key and remote     none will central lock it     key will lock drivers door only 

buzzer does not  work  

regestered on july 2010    it has temp gauge  mk2   dont know about facelift model  3cly 

problems started when passenger door was opened after a heavy downpour     windows would not open    mirrors did not work but mirrors came back after a few minutes  so replaced both window switches soldered 2 broken cables in door pillar each side they were same colour  mirrors ok now      as with central locking started playing up week after    push fob flashers flash ihear clicks near fusebox but no locks work    led lights up    open door led still work  fob it off    close door and it will come on again on its own     turn it off then on again flashers work    led comes on for 6 secs then fully for 20 secs then goes back to flashes  interior light works when i use fob 

so thats about it  any ideas will be most welcome   thank you

the fact you mentioned broken wires in the door pillar, thats where I would be looking further for more broken wires.

hello  urbanpanzer     i checked wires from door locks to door plug on both sides and have continuity  / meger bleeps /   did not check any other as they looked ok some were chaffed so taped them up  and windows and mirrors work ok 

i will check window plugs and mirrors tomorrow     strangely  i think this all started when i  turned the mirror demmister on after a downpour
