Performance exhausts with Xenons??

Featured Replies

Milltek says their exhaust is not for cars with Xenons.

Are other manufacturers the same??

IIRC this is to do with the bracket on the rear beam for the levelling of the headlights, but the milltek can come into contact with this bracket and in the case of a car with no xenons (But the bracket is still there) it occasionaly has to be nipped off.

If you had a custom made exhaust theres no reason why the fabricator couldnt take this into account and bend the exhaust accordingly, so maybe a blueflame or a powerflow would suit you better????

I know i was fortunate enough that the bracket doesnt come into contact with my exhaust though(milltek)

Blueflame one is the same, it is just about possible to find a way to fit it that works but it's bl*mmin close

I've got Blueflame, and xenons, it was a bitch to fit but it's on and it doesn't cause any problems now.

Is this on the rear of the car?............I guess it links the rear squat to the headlight levelling then eh?

Any other input much appreciated.

Don't know whether to just get a car without Xenons.....................are they really that much better?

There are a lot of differing opinions about the £500 option that are Xenon headlamps. I have them and I drive between 800 and 1000 miles per week at all times of day and I think they are fab. Over standard headlights you will get about 500-1000 metres further visability on a dark night, they just light up the signs, cats eyes, lines etc much further than normal headlamps. The car stands out a bit more too but thats my vanity talking. I love them to bits but that me, I would prefer to see the road than get an extra 8ish bhp from a bigger pipe

You can get upgraded bulbs like silverstars and other that do give you a reasonable improvement over the standard bulbs and they represent excellent value when faced with the £500 but they are not as good as the Xenons IMHO. There are lots of threads on here discussing just that....

As for the Exaust, it's a bit like putting salt on your food before tasting it. Drive the car first. A good tech will be able to fit the exaust to your spec and if the load sensor is in the way they will find a way round.

I would buy what you want. There is always a solution :orb_devil

Indeed ;)
