Annoying squeek

Featured Replies

After a brisk drive or even a moderate drive, while turning to the right only, I get a squeek that sounds like its coming from the rear brakes somewhere.

Pulling on the handbrake doesnt stop it but the foot brake does.

If the brakes are stone cold it doesnt make the noise.

Both rear discs are equally warm, the pads are equally worn and there is no additional brake dust on the offending wheel.

It all started a week after having the rear wheel bearings changed and when I gave the car back to the garage it diddnt make the noise. However it is now making it more frequently.

Someone suggeste dit was the outer pad sticking in the carrier but I've had the thing apart, cleaned it and put a smear of grease on the part where the pad sits on the carrier - its still making the noise.

Any other ideas ?

buy a big heavy nissan?

Its a Datsun

SWMBO is having the Octavia. She'd rather have a small car but we decided we really need the Octavia for moving big stuff and carrying the dog - I dont think the dog would get on well with the Z's boot.

buy a smaller dog then, you have to make things so awkward at times don't you
