OBD11 capability question

Featured Replies

Hi, first post.

Just bought a used 1900 mile Kamiq MC 1.5 DSG and very happy with first 200 miles performance.  But the fancy bits are frustrating me.

The Lane Deviation sensor resets to default ON every time I switch it off, research tells me that OBD11 can change this, fair enough, I'd go for that.

But can OBD11 also change the behaviour of the Amundsen system?:

Having to reset "Screensaver ON" permanently?  Only lasts until ignition turned off.

Get rid of "This vehicle has no primary user"?  If I follow the process of assigning two keys, it says "Contact customer services".

Can't be bothered with that, I just want to drive it from A to B.

For primary user has to go to dealer for a system update. Have you got Skoda connect as you will not get any updates

Sat in the car with engine running all afternoon (last time I did this with ignition on only it said "Low Battery") going through all settings one by one. Frankly a load of rowlocks, it won't do what I think it should.

Loads on the interweb that don't seem to be available to me.  Even stuff in the menus of my top of the range Monte Carlo that don't seem to do anything.

Instrument & switch lighting?  Difference between 0 & 100 barely noticeable.

Footwell lighting? No difference at all between 0 & 100.

Front lighting? Don't even know what that means, changing setting made no difference to anything.

Are all new cars like this?

I fixed my original question by switching off LA "vibrate", much less noticeable, and deleting all Users including me.  Still comes up with screens but I can ignore them on pulling the key out.

You may want to try and adjust the lighting at night with the headlights on and see how you get on.
A lot of the new cars are being chucked out too fast, and software glitches are the norm sadly.

Ah you wrote afternoon here, with no mention of change to evening.

Apologies for not say welcome

The likes of VCDS/OBD11 can change lots of settings in the car.
It might be a good idea to try to locate a local user with one of the tools to see if they can adjust some values, if you decide not to buy either tool

If you sniff around in the Amundsen menu's you can probably get up the Software Train value and feed it back to the usual thread.  This is the firmware inside the unit, and more than likely an update is available.
