It’s Raining in

Featured Replies

Hi all

this happened a good few weeks back and I thought I’d solved it but obviously I haven’t 😤

Done search on here last time also but now wanting advice.

It has not got a sunroof so that’s ruled out

Had scuttle panel off last time and all checked ( small grommet removed from drivers side and sealant added)

Been ok until I got in car this morning 🤔

One thing I looked at last time was the wiper motor mountings ( could it be that ? ) I never done anything with them.

But I am now wondering if it’s the windscreen,

The 2nd picture is top of dash in corner by heater vent, slight sign of water and now wondering if it running down behind post trim ?
3rd pic is foot wheel trim just under fuse box

Anybody had this ? And how do you remove that trim as it looks like it’s under the dashboard

Any help would be greatly appreciated

cheers

a quick way to check if it's the screen (and a temporary fix) is to run some PTFE electrical tape around the screen between the glass and the bodywork.  It won't damage anything but will help you see if that is the issue as it should remain dry if it is.

My guess though is that you are right and it's the screen to bodywork join (had this on our Fabia and Octavia but only when they got very old).

Hi thanks for the reply

it’s the screen that’s leaking, you can move it in the drivers corner

Ah - looks like you'll need to get busy with the tiger seal then??

Getting new screen fitted

Hope you caught the leak early enough not to have very wet carpets.  They will need drying out for sure if quite soaked.

Luckily it’s not to bad, it’s been dripping on to the rubber mat which is lipped
