Kodiaq water pump problems

Featured Replies

I followed the site when I had my Yeti (9 years from new).I now have a 2021(71) Kodiaq SE-L 1.5dsg. Does anyone know if Skoda had sorted the water pump problems by 2021. I keep reading about break downs with this problem

Only problems with water pumps I’ve read about on here are mainly diesels , and the odd 2.0 TSI petrol with the pump driven by the cam belt.
I believe the water pump on the 1.5 TSI is a completely separate unit on the opposite end of the engine from the cam belt.

1.6 and 2.0 tdi have a issue where the water pump shroud sticks

2.0 tsi engines have issues with water pump and thermostat housing leaking - mostly resolved now

the 1.4 and 1.5 tsi engines are pretty good for water pumps, not a real issue.
