2013 mk3 skoda octavia tailgate handle

Featured Replies

I'm looking for a tailgate handle for a 2013 mk3 octavia, I've found some in ebay but not sure if they fit. Has anyone bought one previously and has a link to buy one. Its a 2.0 diesel manual. Thanks

Internal handle or external handle and hatch or estate?

External. The boot won't open from central locking anymore, I'm having to hold the boot button on the fob for it to unlock. Its a hatch, I'm gonna take the old one off and find the part number and throw it into ebay

I'd just find the part number and buy it from the dealer.

1) it's a genuine part and will fit and save time faffing with ebay will it/won't it fit.

2) You might actually find it's cheaper from a dealer (Plenty of online marketplace markup around).

The microswitches do fail but I seem to remember there were two sizes of switch (A smaller one and a larger one).

The dealer will be able to tell you which it is from your VIN number I would imagine.

Having just had the same problem and paid about £140 plus VAT, I would dispute that. 🤣 However second hard parts from a breaker can be suspect so bear that in mind.

How much :o:o:o

I've purchased some other parts from a dealer, exactly because the online marketplaces were taking the proverbial.

If those prices are accurate and you can solder then I'd be checking out the board under the rubber cover, hunting down microswitches and swapping them out for new ones.

Yeah it as a brand new sealed boot handle, from the parts department of a big name dealer who won't be named here but you can guess. And this was apparently after a discount because the mechanic was signed up to some sort of loyalty membership for trade customers. I probably could have found a cheaper boot release on a certain auction site but there is the lingering risk of it being faulty as well. I may have been unlucky. Your mileage may vary.

How much??? Thats the price on some complete reverse camera kits which include a new boot button.

I would of gone second hand for £20 and called it a day. If it fails again in a year youre still £100 in the green with 2 buttons
