256mm rear brake upgrade???

Featured Replies

all,

I've already fitted 312mm to the fronts which have helped a fair bit. I believe the rear's are 232mm solid disks standard but these can be upgraded 256 vented disks from a S3 or TT Quattro.

has anyway done this on the forum & I guess how much & how difficult is it to do, what parts will I need... I don't want to go for any bigger front brake option as it seems I've have to change the wheels which I kind of like...

any other advise on improving the brakes would greatly appreciated...

!!!currently suffering from 'tuning bug' sod bird flu this is much worse...I cant bloody stop spending money....

P.S ARB fitted at Jabba a few weeks ago...top lads...& a great mod!!!

It has been covered. They do fit but require a bit of modification to get on. I tried it but didnt want to mess about to much with the mountings.

However they arent really needed as the std ones are more than enough.

The 312's on the front should be well enough stopping power even with a good remap, most of the vehicles mass is transfered to the front under braking anyhow and I don't think that you would see much if any benefit for the rear upgrade.

If you are finding that the 312's are still lacking (You must drive it like you stole it, mine are brilliant). then try upgrading the pads to Ferrodo ds2500's.
