From 15" steel wheels (or alloys) ET43mm to Polo's 15" ET40mm with regards to Fabia mk II. Should be ok..?

Featured Replies

Hi. As I understand it the wheel will be sticking out 3mm more. Any concerns? I am thinking it should be ok. Just verifying before putting new tyres on them Polo (2009-2014 mk5) alloys.

Will be ok, I like 195/50/15 tyres, wide choice and good value, a nearly perfect balance between sidewall stiffness and comfort compliance.

Thanks. Yep. Have my eyes set on great deal at National Tyres for Allseasons Goodyear Vector. Used to use Michelin Crossclimate+ for last 3 years on TT mk1 18 inch. Was thinking about 17, then 16 inch for Fabia mk II but settled for a great price on these 15" Polos. Way to go with this kind of car, to preserve the economy of the 1.6 TDI, comfort and to have greater, cheaper choice of tyres. It sways a lot when compared to my other, half the mileage, 1.2 htp mk2. Will need to change shocks I think to get the best handling out that new alloys & tyres combo. The TDI has 84k in it.
