Pickey Mod, Polish... Roll on Jabba!!!

Featured Replies

Just Finished my first pikey mod...... haven't decided whether to leave it as is or give it a quick coat of black paint  The vent has the words ''mapped vent'' they must know I have an appointment with Jabba on the 14th July :D

After that I treated it to a Clean with Meguiars Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner followed by Collinite 476s Super Double coat wax.... both take a while to apply but the effort is worth it

Now just cannot wait for my trip to Jabba, wish I could fast forward to the 14th :D

Interesting!!! takes some guts to do that!

Did you consider mounting the grill the other way - to stop mud/water getting sprayed up?

Cheers, D

I used the exact same house vent a couple of years back for my Octy RS....what makes it neater...IMHO..... is to have the plate go on the inside of the liner and have only the vents poking through. You can then rivet the plate through the plastic and paint the rivts black....I actually used self tapers.

It looks the right way to me, bearing in mind the direction of rotation of the road wheel.

depends on how much reversing you do!!

Vents are facing the same way as per Audi TT...downwards.

your right - was being thick lol!:o

I used that vent aswell lol, remember the stamped out name. But I trimmed it down with some tin snips first then drilled some more holes for the rivets and mounted it vertically.

The bodywork is looking so shiny! Wanna come and do the same to mine? :P

Ahhh..... but the quality of my straight lines would look more untidy than the straight sides of the vent :D might paint it black though

Thought about the vertical option but decided against it.... still drilled extra holes in the vent to allow more rivets....

Polish ya car  .......errrrr..... na ;) just spent most of tonight cleaning the inside.... a little lighter fluid on the steering wheel..... takes away the shinny look and returns it to mat black ;) and a bit of braso and wire wool on the exhaust.... looks like new :D

  • 1 year later...

Like some others I trimmed the sides and mounted horizontally.

Hole sawed three 60mm dia holes through liner then attached grill using chem black torq screws and U clips.

Hi peeps, what is this for????????
