Rear wheel alignment

Recommended Posts

Hi folks just put my skoda superb 2012 1.6 tdi in to get the wheel allignment done

Halfords said they couldn't do the job becuase the rear wheel allignment is totally corroded/siezed. I think the mechanic said something about bushes/camber bolts.

Apparently it needs cut out and replaced

Has anyone had to have this done?

Any idea what is involved? Expensive?

Many thanks

Sadly seized bolts in the arms/bushes is fairly common on a lot of cars now.

Not much that can be done to repair them without damaging the rubber bush so it will often come down to replacing the complete arms and bolts to go with.

Took it to kwik fit who have the hunter equipment

They contradicted what halfords said. Kwik fit said the front was off but the back was fine. The chap at halfords said if you adjust the front it throws the back off.

So i just got the front done. Cost £65 took 5 minutes.

Halfords said i needed to get whole rear alignment replaced

So don't know who is right

I did get a fancy looking print out with the allignment though.

Thanks

I'd find an  vag specilist or go down the independent route and get there opinion.

Mmh, as far as i know if your rears are good thats what they align the fronts to.

Mine ive just changed rears arms so will need to do all 4, but they always start on the rear, get them in spec then adjust front to back
