TDI BHP Figures...

Featured Replies

...are they including the turbo boost, or excluding?

Is it a 75bhp engine, then boost on top or is it factored in?

Reason I ask is I had a 1.4 84bhp twincam Rover before the Fabia, and despite dropping almost 10bhp the Fabia is much quicker (mostly due to the turbo, though the torque makes the engine stronger as well).

That's today's puzzlement anyway!

It will be the peak power output of the engine - as such, it doesn't take into account the power delivery over the rest of the range, things like gearing, etc. all of which will affect how fast a car actually goes...

Rob.

Shouldn't feel quicker than the rover through the gears, as the rover is lighter, with a revvy engine. But it will feel quicker (more responsive) in-gear.

BHP figures are all-in.

Thanks for the info, so what would the engine only bhp be?

The Rover was to revvy to be honest, fun but not good under 3k rpm. I guess torque is more suited to my driving style.

You mean if they made a 1.4SDI?

Rob.

1.4 sdi? I would say that would be about 50hp, with the turbo taking it to 75. :)

its not that simple and no one would quote the power figures of a turbo car without the turbo

its like quoting how fast your car is with no wheels!!

Just thinking out loud and a bit OT, but that's how the Furby could beat those Veyrons

Jason's managed about 15mph on its roof if that's any help ;)
