Black black screen

Featured Replies

About 1 in 10 journeys the screen on my 2.5 year old SEL will go blank. Sometimes it will come back  but normally I will have to stop and restart the car. Drove the car very early this morning all started OK then it went blank as I was on the motorway I decided to not stop. The car after a while started to fog up on the windscreen but I had no way to adjust the heating controls. The quick heater adjustment button had no effect and the screen would not turn on. Trying to sort this out doing 70 mph was dangerous so I had to dive into a service station and do the stop start trick. As per normal the restart sorted out the problem. I have reported this to my dealer on the last 2 services my car is at the end of its warranty soon do I need to insist on a new unit or will a software reset and update sort it. They say they need the car for 24 hours to sort out the software. As the garage is over 10 miles away and they never seem to have a replacement vehicle things are a bit inconvenient as means 3 bus changes to get home. Seriously thinking of going for a Honda.  Comments please.

Try to hold down the power button if you can safely reach it whilst driving for about 10 seconds, it's the reboot process.

You might be able to get a lift from the dealer to home potentially, unless they have stopped doing that these days 🤔

Did you get this sorted.

Sounds a lot like my situation.  After the warranty expired, the deal miraculously found the fault.

I complained to Skoda UK, and agreed to fund the repair, it was the heating control system that was casing the problems.  Sadly it ha started again.
