Remote car locking through SKODA app

Featured Replies

I have the option to lock / unlock my car through My Skoda app but I needed to submit my driver's license to my dealer to authorise it. I have submitted it on delivery (3 working days ago) but it is still inactive. How long does it take for them to activate that option, does anyone know? Other options such as remote ventilation and departure planner are active and I can use them...

When I picked up my car all I had to do was register a MySkoda account while I was there and the dealer did it within 10 mins.

Hi,

Same for me, visited dealer to show my drivers license half year into owning a car. Took 10 minutes until was able to use app to unlock/lock car.

So 3 days are too much.

From memory the Škoda app login details have to match exactly the driver details which the dealer enters in to the system. Could be, for example, an optional part is missing from an address, something like a sub-district; alternatively a shortening/variation in the name, like Fred instead of Frederick.

Ok, thank you all, I will check with my dealer then

  • 1 month later...

It never worked for me.

Driver licence registered and everything checked by my dealer, but it still doesn’t work though nearly 5 years of ownership.

I have the doors status (closed / locked) on the App display, but I don’t get the two buttons « open » / « close » in the App. 😐

Currently using an iPhone SE 2022 and iOs 15.6

Any advice?

Thanks.

My Octavia iV does it now I’ve been in with licence. Just tried it.

Maybe a stupid question, but have you registered yourself as main user of the car?

I don’t get the two buttons in the app either. Chatting to my dealer a while back we reckoned its to do with the hardware/firmware/software versions in the car.

I haven’t yet pursued it since a significant [firmware/software] update to my car last month.

try sneal's advice and check if your details in the app match exactly the details on the driver's license that the dealer inserted

Not a stupid question.
I´m the driver #1 in the menu.

The thing is, I don’t know what the dealer exactly set.

Additionally, which particular fields shall I tune in the App?

Any advice much appreciated.

I´ve been looking closer at the App and it states « Lock & unlock is available for vehicle manufactured after Nov. 2018.

Mine has been built in Nov. 2017. 😐

Good point for @sneal !

However for some months the Lock / Unlock buttons appeared on my screen for less than 1s and were immediately hidden by the lock / unlock + close / open status display… Strange 🤔

Now I don’t see them anymore…
