Won't start

Featured Replies

My Octavia MK3 1.6 dti DSG estate won't start, I removed the battery and charged it fully and replaced it.

I am using a high quality Bluetooth scanner with Scanmaster Pro app, I am getting DTC codes P068B ECM/PCM power relay de-enrgised performance-too late.

And,

P025A fuel pump module control circuit-open.

The car sometimes starts for a few seconds, then stops again, but normally not.

Does anybody have any experience with this!?

Thanks,

Frank

I don’t know the codes, but has that relay been checked?

That's my next job!

Does the fuel pump actually go? The high pressure one up front might not have enough flow to keep everything running. If the one in the tank is dead or its power supply is duff then it could offer the symptoms you have. Could explain the open circuit on the pump.

The main fuel pump , high pressure one is at around 63psi, I have the battery on charge overnight, so I'll clear the fault codes and hope it starts again tomorrow, do I can run more tests with my apps.

I'm thinking it could be the tank fuel pump relay, but I'll listen to see if I can hear it when I switch on the ignition.

I now have 3 apps to try tomorrow, Torque basic, Scanmaster Pro and another one that I can't remember the name of.

Ok, it's fixed now, it was the fuel pump control module (relay) that lives on top of the fuel tank and is a bitch to remove!

£164 from VAG, but it's a Pierburg unit that can be purchased for around £88 depending how one acquires it!

The updated module has fins like a heat sink below it to dispute heat!

I was advised that it may be the tank fuel pump next, oh no!
