'owdo, all!

Featured Replies

Just changed my Golf Auto for an Octavia Ambiente Auto. Very impressed with the build, equipment and space, and eager to get past the "keep revs down" phase. Wish I'd had the parking sensors though, the extra length and extended rear almost caught me out on day 1 when I reversed onto the drive and almost rammed the garage door!

Thinking about getting a Talex Lite detector unit, anyone know where the best deal is at present?

Parking sensors can be retro fitted by stealer and work a treat. welcome to Briskoda!

Hi, and welcome

Welcome to the forum. I would definitely recommend the parking sensors - don't know how I ever managed without them!

"Eat BOVRIL, you can't beat MEAT EXTRACT!"

Sorry, gillywibble - there hasn't been any meat extract in Bovril for many months - it's now yeast-based just like Marmite. Or maybe you stocked up 10 years' supply of the original?

I think you may be wrong and gillywibble may be right. There's definitely a vegetarian Bovril, but I believe original recipe is still going strong! But you can't beat Marmite anyway!

Thanks for the welcome and tips. I've found the site very useful already, and here's my twopenn'orth for the day : Tesco Extra are currently stockinmg Talex Lite's for £69.97 with a discounted subscription package of £24.99 for first year (standard price £34.99). I bought one this morning, took 2 mins to install, sorted itself out within three miles, and kept me amused all day.

Now ... who/where/what is stealer, and can he fit some parking sensors for me? :-)

We have a Talex lite, and it has never given a false alarm. Far better than some devices costing hundreds!

Got ours from Woolies for £69

Someone else mentioned that Bovril had gone veggy, political correctness gone mad! I can't find any with meat in, looks like the siggy needs changing :D

Live with it, gillywibble! Actually, after a few months Bovril got the new yeast-based recipe right and it now tastes just like the old one (which only had 3% meat in anyway). So, fewer boiled cows, and happiness abounds....
