General VCDS & New Car Owner

Featured Replies

Hey,

I'm a new owner of a Fabia MkII Estate Black Edition (2014) so last of this shape.

So I've been using VCDS to play around with some customisations like I used to on of my old Seat cars. And would like to find out what else can be done on this model Fabia 😊

So far I have done,

• (One Press) for all doors unlock

• Digital speed in Maxi-Dot

• Needle Sweep

• Auto lock/unlock when driving

I also wanted to do the Fog Lights flash with Flash to Pass as I will be putting HID bulbs in soon. But I couldn't find the Leuchte-set options anywhere.

Am I right in thinking with this model being PQ24 rather than MQB these options are not available? Or is it due to having an old cable and software?

I have VCDS V12.12 with a Hex-USB cable.

If there's anything else I can do which is cool I would love to know 😊

Thanks James

PS - Yes I like clicking the Bold option 😂

1} Leuchte programming is not on the PQ24 platform.

2) Is your VCDS 12.12 genuine, that's usually a sign of an illegal clone? Try updating to the current VCDS version (upgrades are free for life fro the Ross-Tech website if you have a genuine cable). BTW we have a policy of not supporting owners of illegal clone cables.

Thanks for the reply. That's why I can't do the Fog lights then.

And cheers will update it later. And it said it was genuine when I bought it from eBay. But it was second hand as the guy didn't have a VW anymore he said

Did it come with a CD with software? If it did then it's a clone.

Did it cost less than £100? If it did then it's almost certainly a clone.

Nope no CD he just said he used VCDS 12 at the time so I downloaded that one like 7 years ago off Ross tech when I bought the cable and still got it on my old laptop so used that version as It worked fine so kept it.

And yeah it cost me less that £100 due to being second hand no idea how much he spent haha he didn't go into details

Slightly suspicious at that low cost - I sold a 12 year old genuine HEX-USB for slightly over £100 on eBay a few years ago and that was cheap at the time!

Try downloading and installing the latest VCDS version which is 22.9 from here, if you join the Ross-Tech forum and ask for tech support they'll need you to be using the latest version with all the bug fixes and upgrades.
