Why does "unable to switch on Bluetooth" appear on my infotainment screen (Skoda Fabia 2018)

Featured Replies

Hi all

I do hope someone knows of a solution to  this problem!

I recently had my infotainment control unit (Bolero) replaced by the main dealer, having finally sourced a 2nd hand unit. While at the dealers, they said they updated the software on the replacement item and although everything else seems to be working, it  comes up on the screen as "cannot switch on Bluetooth" .... therefore I cannot pair my phone! On the dashboard screen, it says "telephone not available."

I've tried running the config wizard/setup etc and sometimes I get the "look for Skoda 1234 (can't remember the exact number!)..." on the pairing list on my phone but it doesn't appear, so presumably that's because the car's Bluetooth isntt working so can't actually send it....? (I have had no trouble pairing my (Galaxy Android) with other cars etc).

Please can someone help?

It might be the one they sourced doesn't have Bluetooth?

Try to get the hardware number out of it from the menu/setup key press.

OK many thanks will do.....  although I was assured it was exactly the same model etc as the one that failed .... I'll report back!

Hi ..the part no is 5Q0 035 842 C     does that help?

Just a query though ..... if the unit doesn't have Bluetooth, then how come the info screen says "unable to switch it on"?

It does seem the replacement has broken Bluetooth, so a further trip back to dealers to fix.

If they sourced this part, then it should be them that replaces it.
