Replacing light bulbs with led in Austria

Featured Replies

Hello!

I want to ask about your experience, just replaced my front tail lights P21|5W with a led one, originally I have to use halogen one but Iam using a led one.

Do you have any expericene, is it allowed in Austria or they take your license plate, the police cares about the modify?

The car is an Octavia 3 1.6 cr style.

Thank you for the help.

Those are a tungsten/soda glass specification, not a quartz/iodine specification as you presume. It should be legal to replace them with LED units of equivalent lumens, but that will cause you problems with the bulb failure monitoring.

So I need to measure how bright is the original bulb, and I need to setup the led one on that lvl? It can be 20-25% brightness of the new LED unit, there is no problem with the car it accepts led I think in VCDS I can adjust the power I give to this LED bulb. Thanks!

If it is brighter but it is not causing problems for others, still a problem? In Hungary govrement doesn't let me use those bulbs, but that is an another part. 🙂
