DSG7 - DQ200 - noise

Featured Replies

Hi, I have DSG7 - DQ200 and I´m having the same noise that these videos:

1st one (second 12 and 24):

2nd one:

The noise appears only after 30-35 minutes and only when changing from 1 to 2 gear and 2 to 3 gear.
I found posts of people that after changing the DSG, and the clutch... the problem reappears, but in the second video it says that is solved by changing the heat shield... then I found this post related to the heat shield: https://www.upownersclub.co.uk/threads/up-heat-shield-exhaust-rattle-noise-repair.6442/

Someone have this problem and found a solution?

My car have 78.000km

Is recommended to change the gear oil for the DQ200?

Thanks

Welcome.

It is recommended to change oil by some,

there are 2 oils, it is not a VW Group recommendation as there are no Guidelines, Recommendation or Schedule for oil changes.

?

So what car, engine is your DQ200 fitted to and how old?

Plenty threads here but as to resolving the issue, first is diagnosing what it is, on what engine & DQ200.

A heat shield can make noises, but no VW UP! has a DQ200, so the heat shield noise is as with any car.

Under bonnet heat shield, or under the car, beside the exhaust, these you check visually, buy touching etc.

PS

Searches of DQ200 cattle grid noise brings up threads.  There are even recent threads on here from just this month.

That was a drive shaft issue according to the member.

Hi @roottoot, thank you for your answer.

I have a VW Touran 1.4 TSI 150CV with 5 years and 78.000Kms.

I´ll setup an appointment with VW to proactively replace the DSG oil.

In the post that you mentioned I`m not finding that was a drive shaft issue according to the member.

Thanks

I can not link it or bump it just now, not likely your issue though.     So an oil change is very unlikely to resolve anything.  A reading of any codes, a road test by a technician and then maybe a reset / update and then another road test is what it needs.
