Just seen that at The Motorist (cafe and general car gathering place) on 26/11/22 they are holding an Eastern Bloc car day 9.00 to 15.00.

I’ll be dropping in at some point in Spooky Suzie, my newly acquired VRS Combi.

 

not sure how Briskoda guys and gals will be able to identify each other but my car reg is V2CVE so if you see me hanging around the car please say hello!

Well, just a quick update…

 

i went along to the event and got there at 11.00

 

underwhelming doesn’t even come close.

 

There was the usual smattering of cars from casual visitors to the cafe, but in terms of Eastern Bloc cars we had:

 

Wartburg Knight saloon

 

Wartburg Knight Tourist 

 

Skoda Octavia VRS slightly modded

 

Skoda Octavia VRS (me)

 

Lada Niva - that had gone by the time I finished my sausage buttie that I treated myself to on arrival.

 

Still, it was a nice drive out…

If you ever go to Ecuador, you will see these everywhere, no matter your income status, you can always afford a Skoda!

I didn't see any of those when travelling in Ecuador in 2004, I would surely have taken a photo if I had.
