Door mirror indicator repeater part no

Featured Replies

Hi

Does anyone know the part no. (or where I can look) for a left-side (NS in RHD markets) indicator repeater with puddle light. I understand this is a combined unit.

Many thanks.

You need to post your VIN (remove the last few 6 numbers) as there is 1U or a 1Z chassis option

This is the parts diagram for an '07 Octy.  You may need to look at the option codes to decide which one applies to your car.

This shows a separate bulb so not a sealed unit after all. 🤔

Got delayed a little, try to check out these choices.

Exploded part diagram, I am sure it should be this part seen if I have got your request correct for the bulb under wing mirror.

I think this is your likely PR Code, but of course I could be wrong

This is what the part looks like, it should be same on other side in mirrored orientation

Just checked the '08 Octy in case you had a late '07 build but it looks the same.

Is it just the bulb you need or is the unit damaged/faulty?

TMBGB61Z972

1Z is chassis main type of course, the 9 is an internal code, the 7 is the year code

VIN filtered by 1Z - 7....

@MikeTheThinker Just need to know if the image above is what he is after, looks like a wombo combo unit to me?  But not seen one in the flesh.

If I've understood this correctly, the PR code 7R7 denotes that the item includes the puddle light - is that right?

Yes this is how I read it also, it's best if you can compare the image above to opposite side.

This is the thing. I assumed (it appears, in error) that a failed bulb meant a new unit but looking at the exploded diagrams above it looks like you can simply replace the bulb. Still a "mirror glass off" situation but significantly cheaper.

Just nipped out for a look and this doesn't look quite right. Here's mine. Sorry, it's dark out there...

Might need a daytime shot, if not send PM with full VIN.

I can decode it, if you give me a little time.

If just a bulb, then it's W5W iirc, what I call a "peanut" bulb 😁

I'm beginning to think the 5W5 bulb is for the puddle light and that the indicator is a built-in LED necessitating the replacement of the bottom of the mirror. 😭

Are these what you want?

UK eBay seller and item as an example only (and I've never seen stuff on Amazon at "lowest prices"). - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/195217718294

Let's go "old skool" as the middle-aged say, illustration below from the 2008 Lucas bulb catalogue, not amber but that doesn't matter to dimensions and illustration, a 501 bulb.  Note there is a 501A bulb too I don't know what the difference is there but it looks like

ETA: 501 is clear, 501A is amber

Modern - WY5W is amber and WR5W is red, see attached pdf but don't expect all sellers to follow this colour code.

ETA: found info

I will check tomorrow with your VIN @StuartA to make sure this is the correct part...

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/255811681927

This should be the part number, the eBay link, use it for image purposes for now.

I have not looked around to see if that is a good price, they are almost £39 from the dealers to give you a figure to get under!

1Z0 949 101 C

I have done the VIN filtered search, and it seems you have the original part mentioned fitted.

Oddly doesn't look like yours, but you either need to get old one off, or opposite side if needed (part number will be 99% same, just 101 / 102 for left/right for example.

@StuartA

The repaeater is LED, the puddle light incandescent bulb.

Should corrosion not be the issue I suspect you have a bad wiring connection necessitating disassembly in situ of the mirror housing and jiggling the wires into the door with the relevant indicator active to check for operation.

So, the repeater LED is built-into the bottom of the mirror and failure means a new assembly not a bulb change?

For the disassembly, there appear to be two methods: prising the outer housing off or taking out the glass and removing Torx screws - is one to be preferred over the other?

Remove the mirror, you may have access to the wiring without removing the screws.

One of my puddle lights in an indicator failed. I bought a new bulb and failed to remove the glass as it was held in very tight.

So I asked a Skoda garage to replace the bulb when the car was in for other work. They found the bulb had not failed but the software set up had changed! They recoded it and it has been fine now for the last two years. No charge made either!

I mention this in case you find your old bulb has not blown.
