Kodiaq front bumper

Featured Replies

On the front bumper, there are two 'diamond' shaped segments just inboard of the headlamps on either side (see photo), an anyone advise what they are? A cold frosty day up here, this morning while brushing the snow off, I noticed the nearside one was out from the bumper bay about 6-8mm. Later, after I'd been out for a short journey in the car and returned home, it had returned back and was again flush with the bumper. I'm intrigued as to why/what they are?20221212_151543.thumb.jpg.f6bdc6d093249cba1ec981599455e11d.jpg

Headlight washers. Try using the windscreen washer when the headlights are on.

Be sure to get your Windscreen Wash at the correct ratio for the weather you might experience.

Maybe -10*oC washer fluid. Or even for lower than that.   Not that you might get a spray on the windscreen or the headlights if the pipes or nozzles freeze.

Do not be surprised if the headlight washer get stuck, as in closed or open at some point.

If the headlight washers are used in freezing conditions and the screenwash is not strong enough for the conditions, the headlight washer can freeze in the extended position, which what you’ve witnessed.

They have a very strong spring inside the headlight washer's... Like a snapping turtle.

You need to drain some screenwash and add pure concentrated screenwash, so the dilutions are now Winter spec, if no wash comes out when you try, leave it or you'll pop fuse for motor.

If in West Aberdeenshire or places of a similar temperature they are as well being disabled.

Totally agree with above comments because it's happened to me on other VW cars.

99% certain it's a result of your windscreen fluid not being strong enough for the conditions.
