PHEV socket.

Featured Replies

Any one know why the PHEV charging socket is not designed such that the flap can be closed when the charging cable is inserted? This would seem

like a better Idea than leaving the flap, which is not all that robust, open when charging?

I wonder how long it will be before a system like a vacuum cleaner cable retractor is used to keep things neat?

I assume the PHEV has a safety interlock that prevents you driving off with the charging cable attached.

Is there any PHEV or EV from any manufacturer where the 'Flap or Cover' can close when a cable / charger head is plugged in?

Not that smart if a cable was wet if it was going to wind back into some reel in the car.

Bad enough the hatch open to all the elements though for AC or DC.

I have not seen a Honda-e being charged out in heavy snow fall or a blizzard, or freezing rain but people must have to do that.

What i want to know is why can’t that little white light illuminate when you open the flap?

it seems the only time it’s not lit up is when I’m fumbling about in the dark trying to plug it in. Right after I’ve just gotten out of the car, and the arriving home lights are still shining, then when you do finally find the socket it then lights up after you plug it in.  Thanks skoda.
