OCU Issue and mib3 infotainment system Update

Featured Replies

Hi
So ive had my Kamiq in the garage as randomly i would have SOS light come on or now and again the infotainment system would freeze.

Garage confirmed the issue was down to the OCU and this has been swapped out - Great (im not sure what this does but i guess it relates to the SOS Calling)

Ive been looking at the  infotainment system version and this is what ive found -

Is there any updates for this?

0156 is the latest for this Software Train, exists 02xx and 03xx versions, but they are not cross compatible (you cannot update from 01xx to 03xx for example, or to 02xx)

My ocu was replaced on Thursday to fix the sos issue and my infotainment screen from freezing.

I’ve had no sos lights since, But I’ve just had my profile loading screen stick again on the infotainment screen 😞 - so I’ve now decided to delete my Skoda account from the infotainment screen (once it loaded up again) to see if it helps the profile load up and quicker

ive checked and my infotainment is running the latest version

I was talking about my problem with Skoda support and they told me that i cant use Connect App because my car do not have OCU(online connectivity unit). What can i do? Ther is a update or not? What is OCU? Thanks a lot!

You answered own question above in bold

This is the SOS emergency call module and what allows the car to have internet access for maps etc.

So i neet to buy Sos module?

I mean I guess you could, but so many people complain on here about it being a broken service.

And it won't be "plug and play" cost wise this will be an expensive thing to do for little reward.

You'll right. Thanks.

I have the same issue where I get an SOS error on the dash and the light on the roof module goes off.  Then the infotainment system freezes.  Had it in the garage the other day to check it, was in all day then they called me at 4pm to tell me it needed a software update but this would take 2 hrs and they had ran out of time.  I wasn't please.  So it needs to go back in to have a software update.  They said this was the first step.  No mention of a replacement module though.

Is correct, there are new updates available for the OCU.
