Egr vacuum pipe

Featured Replies

Good morning and happy new year!!!

The check engine light was on yesterday and the vcds showed insufficient egr flow. I removed the TB to clean the suspected inlet pipe but it was still unclogged. So, inspecting the egr area I found this pipe missing one part. Where should it be connected to?

Thanks and wishes!

Thank you, Pete! Your help is always priceless!

So, since this pipe doesn't control anything with vacuum, I can't find any other solution to eliminate error code 16785. Do you think I have to remove completely the egr and it's manifold pipe for better cleaning? How can I check the valve is working with vcds?

You can test the solenoid part of the valve using the 'output tests' option while connected to engine ECU.

Not sure on best strategy for problem solving beyond that, as I've not had personal experience of it.

Lots of threads on here with that fault code over the years though, I believe.

Yes, there is plenty of information on briskoda! I just made a more careful cleaning of the egr pipe and it had some carbon not only on the usual pipe holes but also inside of the tube. I made a short test drive and no fault came. I'll watch it the long term.

Thank you, Pete and wish you a happy new year!!!
