Wierd buzzing

Featured Replies

Can Anyone help with this. Noticed this a few times now (11 plate mk2 fabia vrs 61000k ) driving along motorway 60/70 mph put the foot down the kick down works perfectly but there is this mid pitch buzzing sound ( like a game show buzzer) that lasts for about a second after a couple of times of  kick  down the noise goes away pluged in obd2 reader no codes anyone with any ideas

Thanks

Look at the rpm.  As you are going along. Maybe 2,200 rpm,.  Accelerate, drop a gear kicking down.  At the cruising along speed you have the turbo only but if you need more power,  you get supercharger and turbo below 2,800 rpm and to 3,500 rpm.    It could be the supercharger clutch.    Could be anything really.

Thanks toot forgot to say that it doesn't make the noise if it's a gentle kick down other than  foot to the floor  ⁷plus only tryed in D mode not S mode now when i think of it the noise also sounds like someone missing a gear in a manual a bit more investigation ahead looks like

Still look at the 70 mph rpm and what you go to,. Maybe not enough demand for the supercharger then.   So you know the story with the DSG and clutch packs.   Things might not last for ever.  Low miles but still getting on for 12 years old.  Never raced or rallied.

Yeah well versed on the dsg/clutch packs now. As for raced/ rallied  more like driving miss daisy only done 9000k in the 3half year's iv had it but as you say nothing lasts forever

Hopefully an exhaust heat shield or the likes. Not a selector in the DQ200.
