Superb estate rear window wiper

Featured Replies

My Superb Estate L&K has a rear wiper that will not stop working. It works continuously even if the front wipers are off. Any ideas why ? (the only way of stopping this is to remove fuse, is the only solution that I have found so far).

I presume you've pulled the stalk forward to turn off? Rear wiper is independent to the front.

Else maybe a faulty relay or broken wiring into the boot hatch?

Hi,

I had a similar issue and it was traced to worn insulation on a wire to the rear wiper, allowing the wire to short out occasionally.  This would trigger the rear wiper to wipe.  The affected wire was in the tailgate, near where it comes from the main body.

I would investigate this possibility soon, since in my case it was only diagnosed after the wiper stopped working entirely; because the circuit board in the control unit burnt out.  It appears that the supply to this ECU is not fused!!  It became a rather expensive repair.
