Potential Kamiq 1.5 SE L Executive

Featured Replies

Evening, possibly looking at the above as a potential new car. Currently have a Karoq but have decided that I don't need anything that large. Does anyone have the above model and does anyone know of any potential issues. Thanks in advance.

I bought mine new last June. I’m very pleased with it, particularly the DSG. Ample power for overtaking, 50 mpg on a motorway run, well equipped, comfortable and quiet. I specced heated steering wheel which I love, but in hindsight I’d have had the heated screen as well.

I'm not a fan of DSG, however, good to hear that someone likes them! Hopefully a test drive this week in the right model as so far been offered a 1.0 tsi,  and a DSG, neither what I'm going for.  I know there's a shortage of immediately available models and long lead times, but if I'm after a manual 1.5, test driving of the others would only give me a sort-of idea.

I was a bit unsure about the DSG but I spend a fair time driving in town and heavy traffic so thought it would be an advantage. I’m so glad I went for it. It’s as economical as the manual box in my view and if you want more control you can use the steering wheel paddles which this model has. It really is so much more relaxing to drive.

Nothing really not to like. You can simply be lazy and set it to auto or use the manual mode, you're then effectively driving a manual car with no clutch to worry about.

We have had our 1500 for 3 months and it seems fine , the rear camera gets dirty quickly and the front sensors get covered in snow and stop working until cleared, but it's easy to drive and the first automatic we have had , comfortable for the 350 mile journey we did at Christmas, thought that the seats would fold flat but the squab is fixed but not a serious problem

I had a 1.5 SEL manual and was amazed by its good mpg figures. Far better than the 1.0l I have now.

Was not so keen on digital cockpit and much happier with analogue display in my SE. Very subjective of course.

My 1.5 with DSG gives way better mpg than my wife's Karoq with a manual box, very impressive.

@sussamb funny you should mention that, im hopefully leaving a 1.5 manual karoq, not because its bad, just time for a change. I've heard through various first hand owners that an increased mpg is a big factor in changing to something a little lighter. Hopefully will get a test drive this week. Still not convinced a DSG is for me, maybe one day.

My first automatic in a long while, only other one was when I was in the US for 2 years. Completely different now in that it's not like older autos, it's basically a manual box with an electronic clutch, and you can select the manual mode if you wish, so it's just like driving a manual but with no clutch.

I’ll never go back to manual, they feel almost ancient since I’ve had my DSG.  Absolutely superb.

I need to wait till the next quarter to see what is on offer with Motability and the Advance Payment on a Kamiq 1.5 TSI ACT.  Important being also how much for the Winter pack as not doing without heated seat and steering wheel.  I can not order until May though as 3 months before the Corsa Electric goes back. Likely the lease will be extended on that which is fine but really I will be OK not having an EV as charging at public chargers is too much of a PITA.

The Kamiq monti carlo 1.0l 110ps is £0 advanced and the kamiq SE Drive 1.5 is £95 advance. Both manual. 1.5 SEL-E is £595 manual advanced

I have one leg so never driven a manual since the 1970,s  . Driven every version of auto, CVT, servo clutch box ever available in the UK though and am  not having a 1.0 TSI DSG with any VW model even if just leased.  I don't need nil advance payment just not anything stupid, and pay the extra for the heated.  Stylee not important, wheels that all seasons are available for is important though.

What I put as mobility offers are.manual

I know. Thanks.  I check Motability price list every quarter and my mate is a Motability Specialist salesperson with Skoda / Seat.  I used to be an  installer of adaptions, hand controls and pedals pre electronic adaptions.

Edit.

It would not be a black one as i void never again..
