Fabia 2 85.

Featured Replies

Is my 2009 Fabia 1.4 16V a Fabia 2 85? Why I am asking is I was checking on "How Many Left" and if that is the model I have they were never a big seller but 83% of them are still registered with about another 20 SORNed.

I have no idea what my particular "trim" is. I think it is what Parkers refer to as Standard Equipment. The list says Full size spare wheel but mine has what looks like a full size wheel but it has the yellow markings for a get you home wheel.

Still only managed about 20 miles with it so far but I should get another 3.4 miles on Thursday!

  • Alarm
  • Alloy wheels
  • Climate control
  • Cruise control
  • Electric mirrors
  • Front fog lights
  • Full size spare wheel
  • Heated mirrors
  • Parking sensors
  • Remote locking

'Full Size'  spare need not mean matching the 4 wheels on the car.  Still an Emergency Spare with a warning sticker.

?

It is not a skinny Space Saver is it?

The Full Size Spare in your Fabia is likely the same or similar to the Full Size Spare for a Mk2 Fabia with 205/40 R 17 tyres.

It is a big wide tyre. I think it is 195/something R15 on a steel wheel with the yellow stickers as against 205/45 R16 on alloys.

I have an extension pipe to fit so I can check the pressure without having to remove the wheel. I'll get the full spec when I do that.

It will be one of these, actually are full size options.

As to the model.   Is your Fabia Mk2 pre Facelift 2010,

So Fabia 1, or a Fabia 2 or a Fabia 3.   These were the trim levels.  so a Mk2 'Fabia 2 85'.

Green Fabia, Full size spare as comes from Skoda.

Red car.  Matching spare i put in to match the tyres / wheels on the car.

Which is why the car is speed restricted with that wheel and tyre fitted.

Sorry, I didn't make it clear in the title of the thread (thought i did in the first post), my car is a 16V.

How many left.jpg

Good.  A Fabia Mk 2 pre facelift,  and  so Fabia '2' 16v 85   Not a Mk2 Fabia 1 & not a Mk2 Fabia 3.

I don't know what it was like in 2009 but for much earlier cars the information for something like How Many Left has to be taken with a pinch of salt as the salesman could make mistakes and errors (bad handwriting even) and I expect data input was very boring at the DVLA and mistakes made there too or misinterpretation of what was written (badly or not).

Have a look on all your paperwork you might have a unique or rarer model listed than what is correct. 🙃

Only last week on checking the VIN on a mate's 2005 Jag the machine and VIN plate gave one character different, twice, to what the salesman had put in the original paperwork for the car's servicing handbook and other paper.

I'm afraid I have no paperwork. Even the New Keepers slip I was given had an invalid document number. I do know, because I checked, that the VIN on the car and the VIN on my V5C match.

I do have the original service book with dealer stamps up until until January 2014 and 35,080 miles. It has 45 codes for optional equipment (I assume these are things coded as against things fitted).

It says it is a Fabia ELE, JHQ gearbox, BXW engine and paint code 9156. Not a lot else.

Is there a question lurking in here somewhere?

I can't seem to find one.

Someone on here will probably be able to tell you what all the codes mean or for (IIRC?) 3 euros someone on eBay can give you the factory 'car data' info for your car.

The question in Post 1 was answered by toot in Post 7. The rest of the thread is just guys trying to give me information about my car, of which I have very little.

It's probably the most reliable engine in the Fabia 2 looks like you got a top trim spec. to go with it. Congrats.

Thanks. I think the ELE stands for Elegance. I am trying to do as much research on it as I can.

Yes, Elegance is the top trim spec.

Yes the falling value of the Little Ingerlund Dollar.

The list is also perhaps as useful for including what isn't fitted to the particular car.

One thing I saw in the manual was the rear power socket in the boot and I thought, "That will come in handy for my rear dashcam.", but then I couldn't find it. The VIN decoded data says: 7B0     without an electrical socket.

It also tells me that my spare wheel is a space saver. Doesn't save a lot of space.

Not sure how good or what you bought exactly from Ebay, but the link below decodes for you, but additionally there is a PDF of codes for FREE...linked on the page,
