Recommended diesel additives/ cleaners for DPF / EGR protection on TDI 2.0 140KW engine /

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I had recently my EGR valve cleaned due to engine lamp warning and specific OBD coded posted. Although I put much effort/money on fuel using the advanced diesel and using the same trustworthy diesel station it just took 90.000 km to have this issue. Cleaning the EGR might not be the problem because this could be the symptom of a clogged dpf or high pressure egr . I ask for the groups assistance/experience on using diesel additives to circumvent this . I have already started to use Stanadyne performance formula for injection protection . Is it a good idea to use a dpf cleaning additive ? Are there any opinions and especially experiences ? Thanks all

Welcome.

What country are you in?

A mod might move your thread to the Kodaiq section rather than the 'Guide' section.

Skoda or VW sometimes advise not to use additives.

VW Group sell additives.  Dealership staff offer to use additives.

Warranty T&Cs, just about 'use of poor quality or incorrect fuels or additives'

You decide if they are the 'correct additives' they might try saying not if there is a warranty claim.
