Management light not going out after egv replacement on 63plate 1.2tdi

Featured Replies

Hi all, my granddaughter’s just bought a 57,000 mile 1.2tdi Fabia 2 after writing her Fabia 1 off skidding on black ice into a jackknifed tractor and trailer. The garage replaced the clutch and cam belt as part of the deal and now the egv has been replaced after no other cause seemed likely for the continuing presence of the management light. The garage have been very supportive. This car had sat unused for 4 months prior to purchase. After the egv was replaced the light was off for a day, and a few starts and stops, but now back on again for the last few days, permanently. Car is running fine, not in limp mode. Prior to purchase passed mot with no advisories. Past mot’s indicate a car properly serviced. Garage are a little perplexed, anything anyone out there can suggest to help? Many thanks, Charlie.

Welcome.

Hopefully someone can help.

Not relevant, but is there any record that the car had the VW Emissions Fix?

The diesel should be OK but it will have been in since back in October or before. Pre this winter winter diesel delivery.

Any water in the tank from condensation should not be the issue, but it has been freezing and thawing quite a lot in the past months.

More OT,

I was born in Banff and lived in Macduff.

Thanks George any suggestions gratefully received. Moved up here from Heathrow 3 years ago, lovely place.

Car needs scanning with diagnostic tool, that will tell you whats wrong.

Map application says Portsoy is about 32 miles, 45 minutes from Maud. Victoria Garage come actively recommended.
