Long shot: compatible aux in port amd cigarette lighter socket for mk2 fabia elegance

Featured Replies

Hi brain trust!

Re: my old and in need of much TLC SKODA Fabia Elegance (2010/2011)

Anyone know:

a) if an aux-in port/ plug for another model eg octavia of this generation is directly compatible, and:

b) if any generic cigarette lighter socket can be used to replace my dodgy (intermittently working) original and last:

c) of any reputable breaker/supplier can provide me these parts plus a handbrake boot?

🤔🙂

Many thanks in advance for any input!

Kind regards

Rohan

Thanks Keith.

The damaged aux in port has a 2.5cm x 1cm chip attached to it.  Out of the back of that are 4 pins which insert into the internal loom plug.

I bought a similar generic cigarette lighter socket in the hope I could simply change over 'plug 'n play' but it ended up having a wider internal diameter than I need and a different connecter set up lol...

To date I'm running my aux with the bare chip protruding from below the handbrake, and I've sandpapered inside of the cigarette lighter paper thin to remove the bad contacts.  It's a workaround, but even Tracey Emin wouldn't call it pretty..
