Android Auto regularly fails to connect

I have Octavia Mark 4 with Swing infotainment

The car connects to the phone 100% of the time for phone calls, but on the other hand Anroid Auto which I have to use to get a sat nav up (currently use Google maps) is proving most unreliable recently.

Android Auto has been installed since I had the car a year ago.  At first was almost 100% reliable

Now regularly when I select APP on the menu the system searches for AA but returns a message  "cant find device" or similar (cant remember exactly what and it wont replicate the problem right now of course.

Also quite often when starting off from a break the AA if it does connect and show Google maps then says "searching for GPS" and is unable to locate whereas as soon as phone is away from car and AA the GPS works perfectly.

I have regularly updated AA on my phone

Has anyone had similar issues or am I the only one 

Any thoughts welcome

It all depends if you have android 9 or above to work proprerly

I'm hoping that it works with Android 13 & UI 5.1 on my Samsung Galaxy S22U.

Not a solution, only observation and food for thoughts.

 

After changing from Samsung to iPhone I've noticed significant difference in how reliable and snappy the carpalay is compared to android auto. Not sure if it applies to all cars or Skoda only.
