Removing chrome trim from front bumper

Featured Replies

Is it possible to remove the front chrome trim found in Style version of the front bumper?

I would want to mantain a non-chrome look for my Octavia 4, but I have the feeling that this stuff is either glued to the plastic elements of the bumper, or it has various clipses that makes it hard to be removed.

Has anyone tried to remove it so far?

I’d probably just wrap it. Looks like it’s small enough you could get one of those sellotape looking rolls of wrap.

Yep, I think that is what I am going to do.

Looked at it a bit more carefull. The thing is glued to the bumper. No chance in getting it ou without the bumper to look ugly after that.

I dechrome it by wrapping it with black protective film. By the way I did the front grill as well. Much cheaper option and all parts are stone chip protected.
