Anyone towed with the MK4
The Skoda employee is right. When I was at my dealer purchasing my new Octy, I've raised the towbar question as I am also planning to tow at some point ( bikes trailer only ). I did not purchase the car with a towbar fitted from factory, but I included in my order the towbar car preparation, which includes not only the mounting points of the towbar in future when I decide to install it, but also a different electric system with more powerful alternator and a slightly bigger cooling expansion tank.

New octavia sportline grille
Nice touch! Now is the time to add the front spoiler from the Sportline versionπ

Are the center air vents annoying?
Designed to be almost completely useless...Just closed them when I got the car and they stay that way at all times. During the winter when they blow warm air they are fine, but when the AC is on in the summer, using them will lead you to give a call to your physiotherapist. Not a deal breaker to me though.

Good! Nice motor out there! There was a Dynamic package which was including the black trim outside(front grill and side mirrors) and a rear lip spoiler for the liftback version, interior piano black elements, sports steering wheel and pedals, black interior roof, sports seats but without the sports suspensions. This one is withdrawn from the price list and unfortunately I was chasing exactly this modification prior of my order. The Dynamic package including the sports suspension is still present, but I did not want a stiff ride. The difference with the Sportline is that it does not include the front spoiler and the rear diffuser. Anyways I got everything from Dynamic and Sportline except the seats and the roof, so I am all good. By the way, you can easily add front Sportline spoiler from Skoda and rear diffuser from Milotec(if you don't like the chrome plated one from Skoda). It changes the looks quite nice. I will send you the links if you are interested.

Same here, factory fitted.

Roof bars - Octavia MK4 estate
Thank you for your feedback. So, I will go for 120 cm since you confirm four bikes can be transported. And yes, 7112 are the roof bars only. This is the set:

Removing chrome trim from front bumper
I dechrome it by wrapping it with black protective film. By the way I did the front grill as well. Much cheaper option and all parts are stone chip protected.

Roof bars - Octavia MK4 estate
Hello folks. I am currently after roof bars for my O4 estate and I will be glad if you share some pictures with them fitted on your estates. I visited the dealer, but the factory ones offered by Skoda seemed to short - 104cm. The Thule ones - Evo Wingbar 7106 will be a better choice, but which is the ideal size for carrying up to four bikes on the roof - 120 cm, 127cm or 135 cm? In the summer I will transport my inflated SUP on the roof with possibly two bikes next to it.

Octavia vrs hatchback 2022
I got a self healing Lumar paint protection film professionally installed on my rear bumper. Does not ruin the looks of the car and it is very hardly noticeable. Also, I think it is a better choice than the bumper protectors offered on the market as you could extend it below the bumper edge, so you have the whole loading area covered. A picture with the film installed:

Anyone actually happy with their MK4? π
Now covered around 5k km in my Octavia estate manual 1.5 TSi. To be honest when I first looked at the car interior and particularly the infotainment system, I said no way I could drive this thing without most of the physical buttons and I headed towards the latest Ford Focus, which obviously is almost the same thing, but with a slightly bigger screen. Due to the tremendous delivery times from Ford and the most important thing to me, a lack of a four cylinder petrol engine( not a fan of a drive belt dipped in an oil bath either) I purchased the Octavia. I am now very happy with it and have almost no complaints about it ( there still should be at least a physical button for the start - stop system which I always turn off and the cabin air circulation). The inside temperature buttons are always on at the bottom of the main screen, unlike Golf for instance and it takes no time to get used to it. No faulty software errors so far, quite a roomy car with a huge and practical boot. The fuel economy on A roads and even highways is great, however it could drink more in a heavy city traffic. The suspension(not the sporty one) works quite well even missing the rear multi link and I am enjoying a smooth ride. The matrix headlights are a great night visibility improvement and are working flawlessly so far.

Winter wheels
I've managed to find a set of 17's winter alloys from an Audi Q2, almost brand new. The dimensions are identical to my factory fitted ones - Pulsar Aero rims. 7J, 5x112mm, ET 45. The only difference is one mm wider offset, but that is not really a difference. Took them to the paint shop and anthracite grey coating was applied than Fulda Kristall Control HP 2 installed. Also, the center caps are replaced with Skoda ones from Aliexpress. The only downside I see is, that the winter alloys are heavier than the the Pulsars.
