Superb 2 Driver's Heated Seat Not Working

Featured Replies

I was previously registered as Czech Audi but can't log in or reactivate the account as my old email address no longer exists. Anyway after a succession of Skodas including a Superb 1 and 4 Fabias I'm now back with my Superb 2 which I bought yesterday to replace my well used Passat estate. I now own a 2010 Superb Elegance 2.0tdi estate, very clean with just north of 100k on the clock.

The driver's heated seat doesn't work, the button illuminates but nothing happens, all the other electric functions work on both the driver's and passenger's seat, the heating also works on the passenger seat. So the only thing that doesn't work is the actual heating of the driver's seat.

I've checked the fuses and all OK, has anyone been here before and can tell me what to look for?

Please check the module that is located underneath the driver seat in the front. it is well hidden behind the wire loom almost at the bottom. Mine was was fried due to water in the module. You van find the at eBay. Just search on this number: 1Z0 959 772C

Have fun.

Thanks you, that sounds like great advice from someone whose been here before, I'll find one and change it.

Just trying to work out from the pics, is that under the carpet in the floor or inside the seat?

There you are

Many thanks, actually I can probably nick one out of my B6 Passat to check.

Would be nice if you could post your findings/resolution here.

Thought I'd investigate a bit further today so moved the driver's seat as far back as possible to have a look.

First surprise was that I found what I think is the Bluetooth module unplugged, surprising as the Bluetooth seems to work.

I think the relay/control box for the heated seat is a bit further back, I was hoping to check the part number for it but it looks like the seat has to come out first.

I also went to the local breakers to try and get a new unit to find that all the B6 Passats with heated seats had the unit removed with a big section of loom, so it seems like a common issue.

the relay is almost located on the bottom, mine was fried due to water/condens causing shortcircuit. So dig a little deeper. 😉

I'm still working on this but have hit a couple of issues.

1. It's just the (RHD) driver's seat heating that doesn't work on my car, most of the threads I've seen relate to both seats not working and a problem with the relay, but I'm not clear if there is one relay for each seat or one relay does both sides?  Maybe I don't have a problem with the relay?

2. Is the relay/relays on the left or right side of the car or both sides (one for each seat)

3. I've taken a Passat B6 to pieces at the scrap yard today and couldn't find the relay on either side, does anyone know where the relay/relays are on a B6 Passat as they use the same part number?

Any ideas?

Someone must know?

My problem is almost identical, but neither seat heats. The buttons illuminate and all the other electrics work including the  memory for seats. 2012 Elegance 1.8TSI 4X4 estate. (Best car I've ever had)

Nobody seems to really know much about this unfortunately

I now believe there is one module and that it does both sides, but I can't positively identify which side of the car it's on. I've seen pics of it on the left and I've seen pics that look like it's on the right but it may depend on whether it's LHD or RHD. I don't want to be either cutting the carpet of doing a huge amount of dismantling only to find it was on the other side.

Failure of both heated seats seems to be common, mine is just the driver's seat that doesn't work which seems not to fit with it being the module, maybe it's the element in the seat? Guess I need to find that module first, but is it under the driver or passenger seat in a RHD car?

The most likely problem if it's one seat is that the heating pad in the seat base has failed. The problem pops up often enough around here.

Quite likely.

Does anyone know if the relay is below the right or left seat in a RHD car so I can check that as well?

Thanks. I'll post pictures when I've found the module, probably at the weekend. (My car is RHD).

Did you get to the bottom of this mate?

No, I’m still trying to find out which seat the relay is underneath?

Do you know what the difference is between the modules as there are some that end in A, B and C?

C seems to be harder to get a hold of?

Agent327 is in France and had a LHD vehicle. As yet nobody has confirmed where it's located on a RHD vehicle

Further investigation has revealed that the module is under the passenger seat on a RHD vehicle. In my case replacing the module made no difference so looks like its the heating pad. I'm sure I'll get this sorted by the winter!
