We are the lucky owners of a new Kodiaq RS. Overall we love it, with just one main pain point - the dreaded Soundaktor! I know we can turn it off with comfort or custom driving modes, but that has to be done every time we start the car. 
 

If I buy the obdeleven gadget and adjust the volume to zero, will that ‘stick’? Ie, won’t have to adjust the volume every time?

Once the volume is turned down, it sticks as a "global" value.  So no matter which profile you select in your car it overrides the value.

 

At least this was for @FatWolfie in his Octavia (AFAIK this is correct FW? No sound in any profile selected)

It is possible with VCDS on older models. Not sure you can access the ECU on latest models.

 

@varooom Yes, completely off no matter what profile is selected.

You’re spot on @varooom , the sound being set to zero has held so there is now now sound whatever profile/mode is selected. And it’s so much the better for it 🤣🤣🤣

Quick update - I ended up getting an obd eleven and am happy to report that it was able to turn the soundaktor volume down to zero permanently. Thanks all for the info.
